Well, this takes the hassle out of installation. It is via Simple Scripts, and as ever with this outfit, the process is as simple as pie. We installed another BuddyPress on this server in seconds.

What it doesn’t answer of course is how well the BuddyPress plugins will play with old and cranky WPMU installations like ForArgyll.com. That’s the next test for that project. Here, we’re just going to concentrate on modifying the theme to our green specs

Extending the capability of dten by adding the BuddyPress Invite friends plugin. Seems to work though there are some interesting type exceptions all over the backend. Am still testing, but I really like the fact twitter is integrated into this. Next is the facebook integration

It turned out the problem was with the plugin being in the wrong place. And of course this was the one thing I did not check because I was certain it wouldn’t be the problem. Of course it was, and of course I’d completely missed it. Anyway, now onto to tracking all the iterations of the ‘Social Network’ logo to change for ‘dten’. Oh, I know I should be doing something original with the theme, but frankly, I do not have the time to chase all of it down and I hate it when these things don’t all resolve down into one css file!

Well, it all seemed to go very well, but when it comes to making a post  on the BBPress integrated forums the system reports an error. I have switched groups on and off and on again til I am blue in the face, but nothing seems to fix it. Evidently it is off to the Help Forums for me. I’ll report back.
